Pakistan Observes Kashmir Exploitation Day with Strong Message of Solidarity
On August 5, 2025, Pakistan observed Youm-e-Istehsal (Kashmir Exploitation Day) across the country with full spirit and national unity. The day marks the illegal move by India on August 5, 2019, when it revoked the special constitutional status of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK) in violation of international law.
Nationwide rallies, seminars, exhibitions, and special prayers were held in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, and Muzaffarabad, showing unwavering support for the Kashmiri people. Civil society, educational institutions, political leaders, and the general public joined hands to raise their voices against Indian oppression and in support of Kashmir’s right to self-determination.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar issued special statements reaffirming Pakistan’s diplomatic, political, and moral support for the Kashmiri people. They urged the international community and the United Nations to play their role in compelling India to reverse its illegal actions and uphold UN Security Council Resolutions on Kashmir.
The Foreign Office of Pakistan strongly condemned India's demographic changes, internet blackouts, press restrictions, and systematic human rights violations in IOJK, stating that these are clear violations of both Indian and international laws.
In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, protest marches and solidarity events were organized where citizens wore black armbands and carried banners with pro-Kashmir slogans like “Kashmir will become Pakistan”. Internationally, Pakistani embassies in New York, London, Brussels, Riyadh, and other capitals organized awareness events, protests, and briefings for foreign media and officials.
On social media, hashtags like #YoumEIstehsal, #StandWithKashmir, #KashmirBleeds trended throughout the day, with thousands of Pakistanis sharing messages, graphics, and videos in solidarity with the Kashmiri people.
The message was loud and clear — Kashmiris are not alone, and Pakistan will stand with them until justice prevails. August 5th serves as a yearly reminder to the world that the issue of Kashmir remains unresolved and demands urgent global attention.
