Pakistan’s Grand Independence and Victory Parade — A Showcase of Defense and Culture

On 13 August 2025, Pakistan began celebrations for its 79th Independence Day and the recent Battle of Haq victory with exceptional zeal and patriotic spirit. Streets, markets, and neighborhoods across the country were adorned with green and white flags, fairy lights, and banners carrying national slogans. Citizens decorated homes, vehicles, and public spaces, while shops and markets saw a surge in festive purchases.

The central ceremony and defense and cultural parade were held at Shakarparian Parade Ground in Islamabad at 10 a.m., open to the public. The event showcased the latest military hardware of the Pakistan Armed Forces, including tanks, artillery, rocket launchers, armored vehicles, fighter jets, and radar systems — many of which played a decisive role in the recent Battle of Haq.

The Pakistan Air Force delivered a stunning flypast and parachute jump display, while military bands performed patriotic anthems that charged the atmosphere with national pride. The audience cheered as they witnessed the skill, discipline, and strength of the armed forces up close.

Alongside the military showcase, a colorful cultural festival was organized in collaboration with Lok Virsa and the city administration. Folk dance and music groups from all provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir presented their rich traditions. The festival featured live music, artisan stalls, traditional food courts, children’s activity zones, and illuminated heritage displays.

In the evening, a grand ceremony at Jinnah Sports Stadium was attended by President Asif Ali Zardari as the chief guest, alongside Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, military leadership, and foreign military contingents from Türkiye and Azerbaijan. The highlight was the inauguration of the Battle of Haq Memorial, symbolizing Pakistan’s recent military success. The participation of international troops underscored Pakistan’s growing diplomatic and defense ties in the region.

Across the nation, illuminated buildings, decorated streets, and live TV coverage created a unifying festive atmosphere. The day reinforced Pakistan’s message to the world — that it stands proud of its independence, military might, and cultural heritage.

As dawn approaches on 14 August, Pakistan is set to mark its Independence Day as a united, determined, and vibrant nation, ready to face the future with renewed strength and pride.
