On July 17, 2025, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan officially signed a framework agreement to launch the UAP Railway Project, a major regional rail corridor designed to boost trade between Central Asia and South Asia.

The project will connect Termez (Uzbekistan) to Kharlachi (Pakistan) through Mazar-i-Sharif and Logar (Afghanistan).
