Deputy PM Ishaq Dar Leads High-Level Pakistan Delegation to United Nations

Ishaq Dar Represents Pakistan at United Nations in U.S. Visit – July 21, 2025

NEW YORK, July 21, 2025 – Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar, is currently in New York on an official visit to represent Pakistan at the United Nations Headquarters from July 21 to July 24, 2025.

During this visit, Senator Dar is leading Pakistan’s delegation in several high-level meetings as part of the country’s rotating presidency of the UN Security Council (UNSC).

Two Major UNSC Sessions Chaired by Pakistan:

1. Promoting Multilateralism for International Peace and Security

This session focused on strengthening global cooperation and diplomacy to resolve conflicts and maintain peace across the world.

2. The Role of Regional Organizations in Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding

This event highlighted how organizations such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) can contribute to regional stability and conflict resolution.

🤝 Bilateral Meetings and UN Engagement

Senator Dar held meetings with several senior UN officials, including UN Secretary-General António Guterres, and participated in discussions on regional and global challenges, peacekeeping efforts, and sustainable development.

🌍 SDG Forum Participation

Dar also represented Pakistan at the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (SDG Summit), where he outlined the country’s progress on climate goals, poverty reduction, and inclusive growth.

Address to the Pakistani Diaspora

In a separate event, Ishaq Dar met with the Pakistani-American community in New York, encouraging them to continue contributing to Pakistan’s economic progress through investment, remittances, and entrepreneurship.

The Foreign Minister’s U.S. visit will conclude on thursday , July 24, 2025, with more diplomatic engagements scheduled in New York and Washington D.C.
